Hello everyone!
I hope you’re doing well and staying cool during these hot summer days—if you’re living in the northern hemisphere of our beautiful pearl, Gaia. 🙂
As the title suggests, I experienced some technical glitches with my website, which caused it to be down for a while. Fortunately, I chose to trust that everything would resolve in its own time and decided not to stress about it. I believed it would come back when the time was right—and it did! 🙂 So grateful. <3
A lot has happened since then, and I wanted to share some updates with you—both from a creative and a personal perspective.
Let’s start with the most exciting news: I recently released a new single—my very first original song written entirely in my native language, Slovenian! I have to say, I’m incredibly proud of it. Writing in Slovenian has always been a challenge for me—I struggled with finding the right rhymes, and sometimes there just aren’t perfect words for certain emotions. On top of that, I was hesitant to express my vulnerability in a language understood by those closest to me.
You see, not everyone around me understands English, so writing in English always acted like a protective filter. It made it easier to share my feelings through music without worrying that family or close friends would understand every word. Despite wanting to be fearless, I was afraid to be truly seen.
But here it is—a song fully in Slovene, and I’m so grateful it finally came to life. I also want to thank the children I work with at the elementary school. At the time, they were only 8 years old and didn’t understand much English, so they encouraged me to write something in Slovene—and of course, I couldn’t let them down. 🙂
If you haven’t heard the song yet, I’d love for you to check it out. If it speaks to you, please feel free to share it, leave a comment, or subscribe to my channel. Your support truly helps me grow—as an artist and as a human being. 🙂
So, what else happened during this time?
One highlight I’m really proud of took place by the seaside, where our small town was featured on a legendary local radio station. They have a special program where they present different towns across Slovenia—their cuisine, culture, tourist attractions, and of course, music. I’m truly honored and humbled to have been part of this beautiful experience. I got to share stories about our town and perform my original music—including “Lepši svet.”
Another amazing thing I’d love to share is that our town is currently hosting the oldest known musical instrument in the world—a Neanderthal flute, carved 60,000 years ago from the leg bone of a cave bear. This year marks the 30th anniversary of its discovery. I feel truly honored and inspired to live so close to such a significant artifact. Sometimes I wonder… could the spirit of ancient times be influencing the music I create today?

We performed in a magical venue called “Taverna,” a former salt warehouse. It’s an epic space, full of character. Rather than describe it further, I’ll just leave you with a picture. 😀

They host all kinds of events there—from concerts to cultural gatherings. Here’s also a photo of our wonderful team who made the radio show (aired on Radio Koper on June 23rd) such a memorable experience. I’m very happy with how the show turned out!

On a more personal note—since summer has begun, I’ve been reconnecting with another passion of mine: hiking in the mountains! 2025 is a special year for me because it’s the first time I’ve found the courage to start hiking alone in higher mountains.
It’s not that I don’t want company—I do! But no one in my circle really goes hiking. Everyone has their reasons: time, energy, health… all totally valid. Still, I reached a point where I told myself: “Now’s the time. I can’t wait forever for someone to join me.” So I geared up and went on my first hike… then my second, my third… and I loved every minute of it. Still do. With or without company, it feeds my soul.
Luckily, here in Slovenia we’re blessed with incredible mountains—from the Julian Alps to others. I’ve been starting with the easier trails, but who knows where the path will lead? 🙂
Just this past Saturday, I hiked Viševnik, which stands at 2,050 meters above sea level—a great height in our terrain (our highest mountain, Triglav, is 2,864 meters).

Now that school’s out for the summer, I’m wondering how to spend the rest of the season. We’ll see. Maybe I’ll share more soon. 😉
Until then, I hope you’re doing well, staying healthy, and feeling happy—because that’s truly the most important thing. The rest will fall into place. Sending you warm hugs and I’ll see you soon!
Much love,
Mojca
